Ephesians 1:3-8
3 All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ. 4 Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes. 5 God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure.6 So we praise God for the glorious grace he has poured out on us who belong to his dear Son.7 He is so rich in kindness and grace that he purchased our freedom with the blood of his Son and forgave our sins. 8 He has showered his kindness on us, along with all wisdom and understanding. (NLT)
I am feeling very much God’s daughter today. In fact, the more I keep an open line of communication with Him, the more I feel so. Last night I prayed: no matter how this six weeks goes at my research university, Lord, please help me to be first and foremost a good example of a Christian–positive, uplifting, helpful, kind, temperate… wait a minute. I know what those traits are:
Galatians 5:22-23
22 But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things! (NLT)
Ah, see? No matter what we can think of, God has thought of it first!
Have a blessed day in Christ, dear readers 🙂
Debbie
I like the idea of being adopted by God, makes me feel like I at least have a home somewhere. I always feel a little out of place in life, but God makes me fell safe.
“Safe.” Yes. Oh, that’s an apt perspective, Ricky!. We live in a broken world where I bet not one of us ever feels ‘in place’ apart from God: from the poorest to the richest, from the most introverted to the most extroverted. That’s because we were never created for this world, but for God’s Kingdom — God is the ultimate safe haven!
You are a wonderful example to so many Debbie… keep on loving and smiling as much as you do!
Thank you, Janelle!!! You know that’s not me, right? It’s Christ! 😉
